Outside of the Sacramental prayers of the Church, for me, there is no other prayer more important then the prayerful recitation of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Our late great Holy Father, St. John Paul II put it beautifully in His Apostolic Letter On the Rosary of the Virgin Mary:

“A path of contemplation”

“But the most important reason for strongly encouraging the practice of the Rosary is that it represents a most effective means of fostering among the faithful that commitment to the contemplation of the Christian mystery which I have proposed in the Apostolic Letter Novo Millennio Ineunte as a genuine “training in holiness”: “What is needed is a Christian life distinguished above all in the heart of The Rosary belongs among the finest and most praiseworthy traditions of Christian contemplation. Developed in the West, it is a typically meditative prayer, corresponding in some way to the “prayer of the heart” or “Jesus prayer” which took root in the soil of the Christian East.”-  His Apostolic Letter On the Rosary of the Virgin Mary

   Hi, Kris,

   Took a few minutes to check out your blog which is AMAZING!!! and now in my list of Favorites! Did I tell you that Chuck and I went to Medjugorje for our honeymoon in 1987 (I’m sure I did when you share your experiences on the back of the bus in Guatemala). We received a special blessing of our marriage from Fr. Jozo, and recently renewed the practice of saying a daily rosary together. We stop our activities of the day at 5:00 pm and say a rosay together before an evening of dinner and whatever fun activity we put on the calendar. We feel the renewal of the graces we received for our marriage in 1987 which has helped us get through a few bumps in the relationship road lately. Keep us in your prayers and we will keep you and Bruce in ours!
